Super-speed Internet satellite blasts off

Japan established a projectile Saturday transporting a satellite that will test new engineering that promises to present “super speed Internet” service to homes and business organisations around the world.

The projectile carrying the WINDS satellite — a joint project of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries — upraised off its pad at 5:55 p.m. (0855 GMT).

If the engineering proves successful, subscribers with small dishes will tie to the Internet at speeds plenty of multiplication faster than what is nowed available over residential cable or DSL service.

The religious service initially would focus on the Asia-Pacific part close to Japan, a JAXA tidings release informated.

“Among former uses, this will make possible great advances in telemedicine, that will convey high-quality medical intervention to remote areas, and in distance didactics, connecting pupils and instructors separated by great distances,” JAXA emphasised.

The projectile was founded from Japan’s Yoshinobu Launch Complex at the Tanegashima Space Center.
